Job summary

Camp.us in Columbus, OH seeks a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and financial operations, maintaining accurate records, assisting with month-end close, reconciliations, and job-cost accounting. You’ll work with accounting, operations, and project management teams to ensure timely, accurate data and assist with audits and reporting.

The role requires 1–3 years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience; construction accounting experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries; assist with monthly and year-end close.
• Perform general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations; research discrepancies.
• Assist with maintaining accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities; review invoices and payments.
• Assist with project and job-cost accounting; review costs and coding.
• Assist with WIP reporting and project financial reviews.
• Reconcile bank accounts and cash management activities.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and assist with depreciation reconciliations.
• Assist with annual audits, tax preparation, and documentation requests.
• Collaborate with project managers and operations to resolve billing questions.
