Job summary

Steel Nation, a national construction, engineering, and microgrid firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant at our Canonsburg headquarters. You will manage journal entries, assist job-based reporting, and oversee tax compliance while supporting AR/AP functions and bank reconciliations.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's in accounting with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, especially in construction, and are proficient with Sage 100 Contractor and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in accounting or related field.
• Minimum 5 years progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction.
• Experience with Sage 100 Contractor or similar software is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Support job-related financial reporting and gross profit analysis.
• Prepare monthly utilization reports.
• Assist with job closeout reviews and commission calculations.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Support credit card accounting and journal entry processing.
• Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns.
• Assist with business registrations and state compliance reporting.
• Manage accounts receivable collections.
• Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
