Job summary

AEP Service Corporation is seeking a Construction Lead to provide field oversight across transmission lines, substations, and distribution, with emphasis on safety and efficient execution. You will lead constructability planning, coordinate outages, and align cross-functional teams on schedules and field activities.

You'll evaluate project methods early in development, use GIS and diagrams to craft sequencing, mentor junior personnel, and communicate risks and progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Safety or related field with 6+ years of field experience.
• ABET Associate degree with 8+ years experience in transmission/ distribution construction.
• High school diploma with 10+ years direct experience in utility construction.
• Ability to read one-line station diagrams and transmission line switching diagrams.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional scoping to align construction sequencing and execution strategy.
• Develop constructability reports and standardize scoping deliverables.
• Coordinate outage planning and material flow for transmission and distribution work.
• Interpret transmission and substation diagrams to ensure safe execution.
• Coach and mentor junior personnel; communicate with stakeholders.
• Utilize GIS and project data for early planning and risk assessment.
