Job summary

Hill International in Orlando, Florida seeks a senior Constructability Review Engineer to evaluate highway/roadway design plans during planning, design and pre-construction phases. The role bridges design and construction teams to identify conflicts, risks, and opportunities for safer, cost-efficient delivery.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in highway design and construction, PE license, and strong MOT/utility coordination experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Minimum 10+ years of highway/roadway/transportation infrastructure experience.
Strong design and construction background for transportation projects.
Experience conducting constructability reviews on DOT/municipal/major projects.
Understanding of highway construction methods and sequencing.
Familiarity with transportation design standards and construction practices.
Experience with utility coordination, MOT, and construction phasing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead constructability reviews for roadway, highway, bridge, and interchange projects.
Review plans, specs, estimates and contracts to identify challenges and risks.
Evaluate sequencing, phasing, traffic maintenance and staging strategies.
Assess temporary traffic controls for constructability and operations.
Identify design conflicts, risks, and potential inefficiencies.
Collaborate with design, PMs, contractors and agencies to develop solutions.
Provide recommendations to improve constructability, safety, quality, and cost.
Participate in design reviews at 30%, 60%, 90%, and final design milestones.
Evaluate ROW constraints, environmental commitments, utility relocations, drainage and permitting.
Review and validate construction schedules and sequencing assumptions.
Support value engineering and alternative concepts evaluations.
Prepare constructability reports documenting findings and mitigations.
Coordinate with owners, public agencies, contractors, utilities and consultants.
