BlackSky seeks a Constellation Systems Engineer to support distributed CMA work on constellation design and mission planning. You will apply modeling tools to assess performance under diverse scenarios and interact with customers, business development, and internal teams.

The role requires a strong background in orbital mechanics, programming in Python/C++, and ability to work across time zones, with a salary range of $135,000–$150,000 in Seattle, WA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant technical experience.
• Familiarity with spacecraft systems or modeling/simulations.
• Ability to work independently on multiple efforts.
• Proficiency in Python or C++ and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and expand processes and in-house tooling for constellation orbit design.
• Support constellation design trades and decision milestones.
• Provide SME in Orbital Mechanics.
• Develop analysis scenarios and configurations for requirements.
• Improve modeling tools to report performance metrics for studies and proposals.
• Support documentation and presentation of analysis results.
• Assist in internal analysis product development and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
