Job summary

Flex is seeking a Consolidations Accountant based in Austin, TX to manage monthly, quarterly and annual closes, prepare consolidated financial statements, and support SEC‑filings under US GAAP. You will interact with cross‑functional teams and external auditors to ensure accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA or BA/BS in Accounting with 5 years of public company or public accounting experience, and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

  • CPA/BA in Accounting (or equivalent).
  • 5 years of experience in financial reporting at public company or public accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and its application.
  • Good time management skills, organized under close deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior management, tax, auditors, and internal teams.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including journal entries and financials preparation for executive leadership.
  • Assist with preparation of consolidated financial statements and variance analysis on key accounts.
  • Assist with 8K/earnings release workpapers and related financials.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams for accounting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide schedules for audits.
  • Research accounting issues under US GAAP and provide guidance to business partners.
  • Support SOX controls and assist with merger/acquisition related accounting matters.

Job Summary Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission‑critical applications. The “Consolidations Accountant” will be based in Austin, TX headquarters. This role will ensure the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of financial data as well as assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining systems, procedures, and policies to ensure accurate data in compliance with corporate and legislative requirements.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Perform and manage monthly, quarterly and annual close activities including journal entries and financials preparation for executive leadership
  • Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements and perform variance analysis on certain critical accounts.
  • Assist with preparation of financials and related workpaper required for 8K/earnings release.
  • Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders including Finance, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and other corporate functions serving as a liaison for accounting, reporting, and compliance activities.
  • Correspond directly with external auditors and provide requested schedules to auditors to support necessary audit requirements.
  • Perform technical research on various accounting issues and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners under US GAAP.
  • Oversight of other general departmental‑specific responsibilities including, among others, variance analyses tied to monthly close and compliance with the internal control requirements of SOX.
  • Support special projects as necessary, such as purchase accounting matters related to merger and acquisition activities, corporate restructurings and intercompany activity.
  • Assist with preparation of footnotes/MD&A for Form 10Q/K SEC filings as well as other SEC filings.
What we’re looking to add to our team:
  • CPA BA/BS in Accounting (or equivalent).
  • 5 years of experience in a financial reporting/accounting role at a public company or a public accounting firm
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and its application are essential.
  • Good time management skills and should be able to remain organized under periods of reporting pressure.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior management, corporate tax, external auditors, internal auditors, and various departments within the company.
  • Ability to think independently, perform own research on issues, and come up with suggested resolutions to be presented to supervisor.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Here are a few preferred experiences (not required):
  • Big Four experience is a plus.
  • Experience with the consolidation system such as OneStream is a plus.
  • Experience with Workiva is a plus.
