Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Software Engineering - Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) on the Connectivity team to drive reliability and performance of critical software systems across vehicle programs and test environments.

The role requires a BS in a related field, 5+ years of experience, and expertise in Python, embedded systems, CAN/Ethernet, and distributed systems. This is a hybrid role with on-site expectations and leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or work equivalent.
5+ years of relevant experience.
Working knowledge of embedded systems development.
Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and data communication (CAN, Ethernet).
Experience leading complex technical work and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

Drive reliability, scalability, and performance of software systems across vehicle programs.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system availability and incident response.
Develop and maintain automation tools and test infrastructure.
Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability in design.
Identify process improvements and mentor other engineers.
