Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Senior Configuration Engineer to ensure accuracy and detail of hardware configurations across engineering and manufacturing. You will interface with Systems, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Chief Engineering teams to keep products properly configured and documented for customer applications.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace, Systems or Mechanical Engineering (or related technical subject)
• 3+ years experience with hardware-focused organizations, managing large CAD assemblies
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001
• Demonstrated organization skills
• Ability to earn trust and maintain professional relationships
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced development environments

Responsibilities

• Ownership and configuration management of system CAD models in development and production
• Maintain accuracy of eBOM, product structure, and assembly configurations including Ursa Major designed and COTS components
• Define clear communication between design, manufacturing, and test operations for consistent configuration management
• Incorporate Design for Manufacturing feedback from manufacturing
• Ensure build Work Instructions reflect current system model
• Develop Technical Data Packages for customer delivery
• Advance Digital Engineering and Model Based Engineering approaches
• Support assemblies with multiple subassemblies and interfaces against requirements
