Job summary

SAIC's Horizon 2 program seeks a Configuration Management System Engineer to support a US Space Force reconnaissance satellite system in El Segundo, CA. The role defines, implements, and enforces configuration control across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and integration teams to keep as-designed, as-built, and as-planned baselines aligned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 9+ years in CM, PLM, or SE in aerospace/defense hardware programs.
• Must have in-scope security background investigation (TS or SSBI) and SCI eligibility.
• Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and consent to a polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Define Baseline Architectures for spacecraft, payload, and ground segments (Functional, Allocated, Product Baselines).
• Create a Configuration Item (CI) tree to break down satellite subsystems.
• Assign unique identifiers and serial numbers to flight hardware and software.
• Manage Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Deviations/Waivers.
• Run the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and assess changes' cost/schedule/risk impact.
• Record status of baselines, ECPs, and variances.
• Track 'As-Built' vs. 'As-Designed' configurations.
• Conduct FCA and PCA audits prior to shipment to launch site.
