Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration Inc. (SME) is seeking a Meeting Planner to lead conference development, planning, and event execution in a hybrid work environment in Englewood, CO.

The role collaborates with Marketing, Programming, IT, and Web Development to deliver successful SME conferences. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and at least 3 years in meetings, project management, or event planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
• 3 years of experience in Meetings, Project Management, or Event Planning.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, organize, and manage SME conferences.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Programming, IT, Web Development.
• Prepare and manage pre- and post-meeting financial projections and invoices.
• Coordinate venue, vendors, hotels, registration, and on-site logistics.
• Ensure events meet safety, health, and legal requirements.
• Oversee budgeting and cost reconciliation.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and partners.
• Travel 5-10% as needed.
