Job summary

Sigma Defense Systems LLC in Norfolk, VA seeks a senior Computer Engineer to architect, implement, modernize, and sustain containerized solutions across Navy environments. Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience (if candidate possesses a Master's degree)
• 14+ years of experience with computer design, software development, or computer networks (if candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree)
• 1+ year of container experience
• Must be a U.S. citizen

Responsibilities

• Lead Agile-based technical planning and execution including PI Planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily scrums, and system demos.
• Coordinate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, System Architects, and engineering teams to refine requirements and ensure acceptance criteria.
• Provide senior-level engineering leadership across modernization, sustainment, and integration activities.
• Conduct system-wide technical assessments and develop COAs for DoD-aligned decisions.
• Lead troubleshooting for complex distributed systems including container orchestration and network issues.
• Guide architecture development for microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud transition planning.
• Support requirements engineering by analyzing CRs and ensuring traceability to requirements.
• Maintain CM processes with baselines, change verification, and traceability.
• Lead software and platform engineering activities including CI/CD pipelines and deployment packages.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity teams on static code scanning, vulnerability remediation, and RMF documentation.
• Develop MBSE models using Cameo/MagicDraw/EA for MFOM systems.
