Qualifications

• Requires expert knowledge of numerical methods, parallel computing, and HPC architectures.
• Deep understanding of scalable software architectures for atmospheric/ocean simulations.
• Experience in proposal development, technical documentation, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex computational research initiatives aligned with Earth system science objectives.
• Develop and optimize numerical methods and algorithms for HPC environments.
• Direct teams in implementing scientific software for high-performance computing.
• Design scalable frameworks advancing atmospheric and environmental process understanding.
• Analyze large-scale simulations and assimilate data to validate models.
• Engage with leadership and sponsors to shape scientific strategies and proposals.
• Mentor junior scientists and foster collaboration across projects.
• Contribute to publications, reports, and technical documentation.
