Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Applied Research Scientist to advance computational geometry and meshing for GPU platforms. You will build geometry and discretization methods to improve robustness, accuracy, and end-to-end performance across CAE, EDA, semiconductor, and scientific computing workflows.

You will collaborate across NVIDIA Research, Omniverse, OpenUSD, Warp, and industrial partners, tackling differentiable geometry, learning-based meshing, and AI-native geometry representations to enable

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent experience in CS, computational geometry, scientific computing, graphics, applied mathematics, engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Background in computational geometry, geometry processing, mesh generation, adaptive discretization, CAD/CAE algorithms, or simulation-ready representations with 5+ years in computational engineering.
  • C++ and Python skills with algorithms for sophisticated geometry.
  • Understanding of boundary representations, topology, mesh quality, discretization error, numerical robustness, and solver requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Build algorithms for computational geometry, meshing, and CAD/CAE interoperability.
  • Explore differentiable geometry, AI-native processing, and learning-based meshing.
  • Investigate solver- and hardware-aware geometry methods for robustness and efficiency.
  • Define benchmarks for mesh quality, geometry conversion, discretization accuracy, and performance.
  • Collaborate with teams across NVIDIA platforms and external partners.
