Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Principal Scientist II in Computational Chemistry to shape the vision of its MPDD computational sciences team. You will guide the development and deployment of advanced models, combining quantum mechanics, atomistic simulations, and AI/ML to accelerate drug discovery across modalities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience applying computational chemistry and data science to drug discovery and molecular optimization.
• Expertise with quantum mechanics, molecular dynamics, atomistic simulations and ML/AI approaches.
• Ability to design and benchmark computational models for drug discovery.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary programs and mentoring scientists.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership in applying computational chemistry to molecular design and profiling.
• Lead development and benchmarking of computational models and workflows.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists, data scientists, and engineers to integrate tools into workflows.
• Present strategies and results to senior leaders and external partners.
