Qualifications

• MS degree in computer science and bioinformatics.
• 2–5 years of related work experience.
• Experience with Python or Perl for computational biology.
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments and cloud/HPC resources.
• Experience analyzing genomics data (RNA-seq, NGS, WES, Hi-C).
• Experience developing, implementing, or maintaining bioinformatics workflows.
• Experience with imaging informatics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Applies and develops computational and bioinformatics approaches to analyze complex oncology datasets.
• Develops and maintains bioinformatics workflows and pipelines for cancer research.
• Uses R, Python, and related tools for statistical analyses and visualization.
• Develops algorithms and software to identify patterns in biological data.
• Supports web-based bioinformatics tools and resolves technical issues.
• Collaborates with investigators and team members to define analytic requirements.
• Communicates analytic results through figures, summaries, and presentations.
• Performs quality control and documentation of methods and outputs.
• Keeps records in line with data management practices.
• Stays current with new computational methods and their applications.
• Participates in creating data algorithms for DNA/protein components.
• Interprets high-throughput genomics and genetic data analyses.
• Performs other related work as needed.
