Job summary

HEICO Corporation in Vista, CA is seeking a Senior Composite Technician to lead fabrication, assembly, and development of advanced composite structures. This hands-on role trains junior technicians and supports engineering in new product development.

You will lead by example to ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to safety, 5S, and documentation standards, while collaborating with production and engineering teams on prototypes and production runs.

Qualifications

• U.S. Person status required due to export control.
• 12 years of Composite manufacturing experience.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Must be able to communicate in English, read and comprehend instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lead fabrication and assembly of composite parts using layups, bonding, and curing techniques (e.g., pre-preg, vacuum bagging, autoclave, oven cure).
• Train and mentor technicians on composite processes, tooling, safety practices, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams during prototype and new product development phases.
• Identify and resolve technical issues in manufacturing processes, tooling, and part quality.
• Maintain detailed documentation of process improvements, deviations, and lessons learned.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer specifications.
• Provide input on process optimization, tooling design, and material selection.
• Lead by example in safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Support project planning and resource coordination with supervisors and production leads.
• Continuously demonstrate 5S and awareness of FOD & Tool control.
