Job summary

Sterling Engineering, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Component Quality Technologist to support QA in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.

You will inspect components and assemblies, apply engineering specs and GD&T, and work with production and engineering to maintain high quality standards. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years manufacturing quality inspection experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and precision measurement techniques.
• ISO 9001, ASQ, Lean, or Six Sigma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of components and assemblies.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Interpret GD&T requirements to verify conformance.
• Document nonconforming materials and quality concerns.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
• Assist calibration and verification of inspection equipment.
• Train junior quality and inspection personnel as needed.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems, safety procedures and standards.
