Job summary

SQA Services is seeking a Quality Mechanical Inspector in Chicago, IL, for first shift on a full-time or part-time basis. The role involves on-site inspections at client suppliers across the Midwest, with emphasis on precision measurement and conformance to drawings.

The candidate will use micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, and surface plates to verify dimensions, detect defects, and document outcomes. A strong eye for quality and GD&T expertise are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on precision mechanical parts inspection experience.
• Ability to read/interpret drawings and industry standards.
• Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions using hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct precision inspections at client supplier sites in Chicago and Midwest.
• Verify workmanship and conformance to drawings/specs.
• Perform surface plate inspections on first article and in-process parts when required.
• Operate micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs to verify dimensions.
• Classify defects and verify rework during inspection.
