Job summary

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a Compliance Officer 2 to support the Internal Audit Bureau Chief. This role performs journey-level professional duties to ensure compliance with department-enforced state and federal laws, rules, guidelines, and program requirements.

The position emphasizes policy interpretation, risk assessment, and oversight of audits and corrective actions, requiring strong analytical and communication skills in a collaborative government

Qualifications

• Graduation with a four-year degree and five years of full-time related experience.
• Law degree and two years related experience.
• Nine years total education and/or full-time experience with college hours counting as one year.
• Two years of management/supervisory experience in the state executive branch.

Responsibilities

• Performs journey-level professional duties to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, rules, guidelines, and program requirements.
• Under the direction of the Internal Audit Bureau Chief, supports compliance efforts and related work as required.
