Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a senior Compliance Engineer to represent UL on harmonized standards development committees and deliver expert training to customers and at public events. You will independently define project scope, plan investigations, and determine costs, timeframes, and sample requirements, including field testing at client sites when needed.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of Compliance Engineering experience with IEC 60601-1 and related standards.
• Experience as Evaluator and Reviewer in 60601 series standards such as IEC 60601-2-2, IEC 60601-2-18, IEC 60601-2-47, ISO 80601-2-56/61/12/74, IEC 60601-2-77/78/33/37/43/44/45.
• Ability to apply project-handling concepts to complex, new, or unusual products.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
• Team-oriented, innovative, and capable of solving complex problems.
• Hands-on engineering experience in laboratory environments.

Responsibilities

• Represents UL on harmonized standards development committees.
• Delivers technical training content to customers or at public events.
• Defines project scope, develops preliminary plans, and determines specifications including cost, time, and sample requirements; may involve client-site testing.
• Communicates with clients to discuss technical issues, costs, schedules, and sample requirements; resolves client concerns.
• Establishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer information, and examining samples for UL compliance.
• Coordinates laboratory activities, schedules staff, and may conduct tests; prepares status reports.
• Communicates project status and results to clients; prepares follow-up service procedures and information pages.
• Integrates continuous improvement into all aspects of the job.
• Completes audits and assists in developing UL requirements and test methods.
