Job summary

Spruce Street Compliance in Washington, DC is seeking a Compliance Director to oversee day-to-day financial management for a client portfolio. Based in our DC office, you will report to the firm’s President and lead a small team of managers and associates.

You will file federal and non-federal campaign finance reports, maintain client books, budgets, cash flow, and produce regular financial reports while ensuring GAAP compliance and strong controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with political or non-profit organizations, at least 3 years in financial compliance.
• At least 2 years experience filing FEC reports.
• Strong bookkeeping, budgeting, and tracking experience.
• Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Prior management experience and ability to create organizational systems for a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage compliance team including Managers and Associates.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients.
• Lead preparation and filing of federal and non-federal campaign finance reports.
• Maintain client bookkeeping files, budgets, and cashflow.
• Provide financial reports to clients.
• Perform bank and compliance software reconciliations.
• Register and terminate client registrations.
• Process disbursements and track invoices.
• Oversee payroll and staff benefit programs.
• On-boarding and off-boarding client staff.
• Maintain GAAP compliance.
• Oversee compliance correspondence.
• Create, implement, and administer workflows.
• Develop relationships with vendors and assist with procurement.
