Job summary

Happen Bank is seeking an experienced compliance data analytics professional to join its team. You will develop, implement, and maintain reports and processes to support the Compliance organization.

You will tune BSA/AML models, streamline reporting, and enhance CRA reporting to align with strategic goals. Expect collaboration across Compliance, Technology, Model Risk Management, and Data Engineering, plus participation in audits and regulatory exams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher required; AML knowledge beneficial.
  • CAMS or AML certification is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of analytics experience with SQL, RStudio, Python, etc.
  • 2+ years in compliance/financial crimes in a regulated financial institution (fintech preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain reports and processes for Compliance.

Job description

  • Happen Bank’s Compliance Team is looking for an experienced compliance data analytics professional to join the team
  • In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining various reports and processes to support the Compliance organization
  • Conduct tuning of existing BSA/AML transaction monitoring models/rules and watchlist screening processes; develop new processes as needed
  • Execute on initiatives to streamline operational processes related to ad-hoc reporting and ongoing performance monitoring related to BSA/AML and regulatory compliance
  • Enhance and Develop Community-Reinvestment Act (CRA) reporting to support the strategic plan
  • Provide support for other Compliance related initiatives and activities as needed, including internal and external audits or regulatory exams and strategic projects; Collaborate with partners across Compliance, Technology, Model Risk Management, and Data Engineering to support deliverables
  • Perform ongoing User-Acceptance Testing (UAT) to support new products/channels, ensuring coverage in transaction monitoring, customer risk rating, and screening models as required
  • Use creativity, analytical expertise, and sound judgment to identify and mitigate risk
  • Use AI tools fluently and stay current on new AI use cases, methods and bring them into your work thoughtfully
  • Assist in preparing periodic reporting materials for executive leadership
  • Assist in regulatory exam readiness and internal audit reviews

Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of BSA/AML laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC/sanctions requirements, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Fair Housing Act, CRA and other laws and regulations related to fair and responsible banking; CAMS or other AML certification is a plusExperience and inquisitive in the use of AI tools as part of your analytical toolkit — for exploration, pattern recognition, and modeling2-5 years of analytics experience with technical proficiencies in SQL, RStudio, Python, etc2+ years of compliance/financial crimes compliance experience in a regulated financial institution with a background in fintech preferredPassion for driving change with an ability to navigate multiple high and sometimes competing prioritiesStrong problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguityEffective communicator who can tailor discussions to various audiences; You have the ability to simplify complex analysis for non-technical audiences
