Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL seeks a healthcare compliance professional to manage audits, risk assessments, and investigations ensuring adherence to policies and regulations. You will perform program reviews and prepare determinations for leadership with strict confidentiality.

You will analyze complex health care regulations, develop training materials, and present findings to Steering Committee and Board meetings, while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • 3+ years of health care compliance experience in provider compliance or internal audit; 5+ years preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, PowerBI) with advanced Excel/PowerBI skills.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills for committees, leadership, and legal counsel.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective training on complex compliance topics.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and contributes to presentations and deliverables for key Compliance meetings, including Steering Committee and Board Meetings.
  • Participates in Compliance inquiries and investigations, assisting with initiatives as requested.
  • Contributes to Compliance risk assessment initiatives and programs as directed.
  • Performs and summarizes data analysis for monitoring and auditing activities, inquiries and investigations, risk assessment, or other projects.
  • Prepares and executes project plans related to the annual Compliance Work Plan items, risk assessment initiatives, and special projects.

Job Description

  • Strong communication skills and ability to present ideas and information comfortably and effectively in front of committees and large groups, legal counsel, all levels of job classes within the system, and other key stakeholders, such as patients and representatives of government agencies. [Required]
  • Ability to develop and provide effective and understandable training to various audiences, including experience translating complex compliance concepts into an easy to understand format. [Required]
  • Demonstrate strong ethical principles and behaviors. [Required]
  • Ability to respond to requests in an independent, focused, and timely manner. [Required]
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and leaders in other departments. [Required]
  • Working knowledge of health care compliance programs and the Office of Inspector General (OIG) “seven elements” of an effective compliance program. [Required]
  • Ability to independently research and analyze complex health care compliance and regulatory subjects, including the ability to understand and synthesize federal and state laws and regulations, and other industry documents/publications. [Required]
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to independently develop and manage project plans, effectively prioritize work, complete tasks/projects within established timeframes, and report on progress to leadership. [Required]
  • Ability to develop and implement compliance audits, including appropriate steps to conduct retrospective reviews as well as internal proactive reviews as part of monitoring and auditing plans or inquiries and investigations. [Required]
  • Ability to develop and implement project plans. [Required]
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and recommendations. [Required]
  • Ability to independently perform data and document analysis and assist with compliance inquiries and investigations. [Required]
