Job summary

55 Insperity Retirement Services, L.P. is seeking a Senior Compliance Analyst responsible for all compliance aspects of 401(k) plan administration. Responsibilities include plan document creation, nondiscrimination testing, and audit package preparation.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and experience in defined-contribution plan administration. Strong technical competence in retirement plans and regulations is essential.

Qualifications

  • Four to seven years of experience in defined-contribution plan administration.
  • Industry-related professional designation preferred but not required.

Job description

Senior Compliance Analyst

This position is responsible for all compliance aspects of 401(k) plan administration, including plan document creation and maintenance, nondiscrimination testing, participant benefit allocations, audit package preparation, and related tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Review prospective business for suitability and plan design, ensuring regulatory‑required protected benefits are maintained.
  • Manage execution and perform annual nondiscrimination testing for client‑sponsored 401(k) plans, including participant benefit allocations.
  • Prepare annual IRS Form5500 and Form8955‑SSA accurately and timely by IRS deadlines.
  • Prepare annual audit assistant packages for plans subject to independent accountant’s opinion, acting as client and auditor point of contact during annual plan audits.
  • Prepare legal plan documents, adoption agreements, plan restatements, mandatory and optional amendments, and related participant notices using third‑party administration software.
  • Advise and direct other team members on complex controlled‑group business structures and potential compliance risks.
  • Create required plan sponsor and participant disclosures using web‑based applications common to the 401(k) industry.
  • Provide technical expertise on advanced issues to consultants, operations personnel, client services, and clients.
  • Monitor legislative changes for potential required amendments for all 401(k) plans administered.
  • Serve as a compliance resource for sales representatives during prospecting and onboarding phases.
  • Assist with identification, development, and implementation of process improvements to perform compliance tasks more efficiently.
  • Manage execution of regulatory tasks such as annual contribution calculations and review of domestic relations orders.
  • Assist in the accomplishment of company goals and help other employees achieve them.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and participate in Disaster Recovery planning as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent field.
  • Four to seven years of experience in defined‑contribution plan administration.
  • Industry‑related professional designation preferred but not required; expected commitment to pursue a designation with ASPPA or NIPA.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Technical competence of retirement plans and related laws (ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, DOL regulations), focused on 401(k) plans.
  • Experience with ASC Documents, 5500 and Compliance Testing, OmniPlus, or other recognized record‑keeping systems.
  • Ability to research information independently via industry resources.
  • Attention to detail and data analysis to ensure accuracy and detect trends.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word; Access knowledge a plus.
  • Strong aptitude for balancing and reconciling financial activity.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups, prioritize deadline‑oriented projects, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
