Job summary

JPS Health Network is seeking a Senior Compliance Analyst to support the Tarrant County Hospital District’s Compliance and Privacy Programs. You will investigate concerns, monitor EMR access, and perform risk assessments to ensure adherence to FSG and HIPAA standards.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to promote a culture of compliance, maintain documentation, and generate management reports on vendor status and COI disclosures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Business, Accounting, English, Healthcare Law or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 4+ years of experience in compliance within a hospital, medical practice, or healthcare environment.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of experience in hospital/healthcare compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate regulatory or privacy violations and coordinate remediation.
  • Monitor EMR privacy access using the department’s auditing tools.
  • Research and validate monthly LEIE/OIG/SAM exclusions for staff and vendors.
  • Develop and design compliance and privacy education materials.
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders to support compliance initiatives.
  • Assess compliance risks and design monitoring tools to mitigate violations.
  • Enter and track reported compliance concerns using proprietary software.
  • Stay informed on fraud alerts and changes to the OIG Work Plan and escalate as needed.
  • Document findings from risk assessments, audits, and internal monitoring.
  • Participate in auditing, monitoring, and reporting on findings.
  • Conduct vendor third‑party risk assessments and maintain related reports.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in related field
4+ years compliance experience in healthcare
High School Diploma or GED
6+ years compliance experience in healthcare

Job Summary

The Senior Compliance Analyst is responsible for providing an array of technical and administrative duties to support the Tarrant County Hospital District (TCHD) Compliance and Privacy Programs by researching, monitoring, investigating and auditing systems and processes, to help ensure standards for an Effective Compliance Program, as promulgated by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines (FSG) meet or exceed federal and state requirements.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities
  • Performs investigation of potential regulatory or compliance and privacy violations received by e‑mail, voicemail, hotline, or walk‑ins to determine the validity of the concerns and provide remediation efforts for prompt resolution.
  • Performs ongoing and proactive monitoring of inappropriate access to electronic medical records (EMR) through effective use of the Compliance Department’s automated EMR privacy auditing solution, in accordance with the HITECH and HIPAA Security Rule.
  • Responsible for researching and validating the monthly exclusion check outcomes of all JPS employees, medical staff, residents, volunteers and accounts payable vendors in support of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE), Texas Health and Human Services Commission Office of Inspector General (OIG) Exclusion List, and U.S. General Service Administration’s System for Award Management (SAM) Exclusions.
  • Assists in the development and design for compliance and privacy education to promote compliance program awareness and a strong culture of compliance.
  • Maintains effective lines of communication with stakeholders and departments to support compliance initiatives and foster proactive engagement across the organization.
  • Participates in the ongoing assessment of compliance and privacy risks and designs monitoring and auditing tools or activities to mitigate regulatory violations.
  • Enters, tracks and trends reported compliance concerns using proprietary software programs.
  • Stays abreast of Special Fraud Alerts and changes to the OIG Work Plan escalating issues to management.
  • Responsible for analyzing and documenting discoveries stemming from compliance risk assessments, audits and/or Compliance Program Internal Monitoring activities.
  • Actively participates in auditing, monitoring, and reporting on identified findings.
  • Responsible for conducting risk assessments of third‑party vendors to evaluate their compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation related to third‑party management activities, including generating regular reports and updates for management on vendor compliance status.
  • Maintains and monitors Conflict of Interest (COI) data to ensure disclosures, reviews, approvals, assignments, communications, and annual certifications are completed and accurately documented. Generates ad hoc reports and provides data analyses in response to stakeholder requests.
  • Assists with the management of the Compliance Program policies and procedures (p/p), along with other Compliance Program owned p/p, ensuring timely revisions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
