Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is seeking a Complex Liability Adjuster to handle a caseload of 115–130 complex CGL and BOP claims, including litigated files. You will oversee claims from investigation through resolution, assess coverage and liability, and coordinate with defense counsel to shape strategies.

The role emphasizes hands-on negotiation, rigorous documentation, and collaboration with internal teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing litigated and in-suit CGL and BOP claims.
• 10+ years in insurance experience, including hands-on (CGL) claims handling.
• Licensing: active adjuster license or willingness to obtain and maintain all required state licenses.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex CGL and BOP claims from initial investigation through resolution.
• Manage litigated and in-suit claims in partnership with defense counsel and vendors.
• Review policy language and determine coverage, liability, and damages.
• Develop and implement claim handling and resolution plans.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and internal teams.
