This role investigates and adjusts claims, directing defense counsel, independent adjusters, experts, and other vendors in the claim‑handling processes. The position collaborates with the Claim Manager to identify exposures and recommend solutions, and requires a thorough understanding of applicable laws in the US, Canada, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of casualty claims experience.
• Adjuster licenses required for various States.
• Ability to handle large, complex claims including litigated matters and coverage cases.
• Strong customer focus and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and adjusts claims, directing outside defense counsel and vendors.
• Assists Claim Manager in exposure identification and solution recommendations.
• Maintains knowledge of laws and regulations governing Property & Casualty claims in the US, Canada and PR.
• Alerts changes in laws that could impact Ryder’s liability program.
• Interacts with field ops, legal, safety managers, customers, carriers and third‑party claimants.
• Interacts with the Law Department on significant cases and updates field operations on claim status.
• Supervises outside vendors to ensure proper handling per jurisdiction.
• Recommends and sets reserves to reflect probable payouts.
• Investigates and resolves complex high‑exposure claims pursued against Ryder and insured customers.
