Job summary

Mercer, part of Marsh, seeks a Principal Compensation Consultant to lead large-scale projects, coach teams, and support business development. This role follows a hybrid work model with three days per week in the office or with clients.

You will design compensation strategies and advise senior executives, managing complex engagements and ensuring high-quality deliverables while leveraging AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of compensation consulting experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple large projects and complex engagements.
• Strong knowledge of compensation strategy and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Structure, direct, review, and interpret analyses performed by project teams.
• Develop compensation strategies, philosophies, and programs addressing attraction and retention.
• Advise senior executives on pay strategy, job architecture, and digital activation.
• Embrace AI and technology-enabled tools in compensation work.
• Manage day-to-day client interactions and build strong relationships.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and ensure quality deliverables.
• Develop new client relationships and identify cross-selling opportunities.
