Job summary

Mercer, a Marsh business, is seeking a Senior Executive Compensation Consultant to lead design and delivery of executive and broad-based programs with a focus on higher education. You will manage project teams, own client relationships, and drive revenue through new business development in a hybrid office setting.

You will mentor junior staff, liaise with Marsh colleagues, and ensure meaningful development opportunities while advancing compensation strategy, incentives, and market data

Qualifications

• Significant experience in executive and broad-based compensation consulting, preferably with higher education clients.
• Strong skills in compensation analysis, incentive-plan design, and total rewards strategy.
• Knowledge of executive compensation regulations for tax-exempt organizations.
• Proven client-relationship and project-leadership experience, including delivering client materials.

Responsibilities

• Structure, direct, review, and interpret compensation analyses produced by project teams.
• Develop compensation philosophies, strategies, and programs to support attraction and retention.
• Monitor higher-education trends and adapt Marsh tools and research.
• Assess pay and program features against market and client circumstances.
• Design short-term incentive programs aligned with client objectives.
• Advise senior management on remuneration and related HC issues.
• Generate revenue by developing new client relationships and expanding accounts.
• Delegate work and mentor team members across Marsh office teams.
• Liaise across Marsh units as the career thought leader for higher education.
