Job summary

Visiting Angels Columbus is seeking a compassionate Companion Caregiver to support local seniors in Columbus, GA and surrounding areas. Responsibilities include light housekeeping, meal prep, mobility assistance, and transportation.

Training opportunities exist to develop dementia and Alzheimer’s care skills while delivering dignified, respectful support. Positions available full-time and part-time; you’ll join a team dedicated to compassionate, community-based care and improving quality of life

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong ethics and compassionate approach.
• Physical endurance to assist with mobility.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and patient demeanor.
• Ability to assist with housekeeping and meal preparation with dietary awareness.
• Passion to serve others as a caregiver.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with client input
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them
• Perform light housekeeping
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies
