Job summary

Cedar Corporation is seeking a Community Assistance Planner in Menomonie, WI. The ideal candidate will work with local municipalities to identify needs, develop plans, and present recommendations on planning and zoning issues.

Applicants should have a related bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of plan writing and zoning experience; GIS knowledge is preferred. AICP is welcome but not required; strong client-relations skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of plan writing and zoning administration experience.
• AICP preferred but not required.
• Proficient in developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Experience with demographic analysis and survey.
• Knowledge of GIS applications.
• Ability to write and organize professional reports such as comprehensive plans.

Responsibilities

• Interact with local municipalities to identify needs, provide solutions, and manage multiple projects.
• Work closely with municipality staff and elected officials to develop solutions and present recommendations on planning and zoning issues.
• Provide high level professional report writing and presentation services.
• Develop plans, administer ordinances, oversee special projects, and complete staff reviews for municipalities.
• Provide knowledge of state and federal codes and statute changes.
• Assist with grant research and writing.
