The position combines strategic community planning with hands‑on execution across digital platforms and real‑world experiences.

You will cultivate conversations, identify emerging community needs, and create meaningful rituals that strengthen participation and belonging.

Working closely with marketing, social, product, engineering, and other teams, you will turn community insights into actionable business and product outcomes.

You will also contribute to brand reputation, moderation standards, and crisis response while helping establish scalable community practices.

This is an autonomous, high‑impact opportunity for an experienced community leader who understands internet culture and knows how to build communities that thrive.

Accountabilities
  • Support the development and ongoing growth of a dedicated community hub for discussion, education, feedback, and connection.
  • Help establish scalable community systems, frameworks, standards, and engagement rituals that increase participation and belonging.
  • Define and improve member journeys, including how users join, contribute, receive recognition, and remain engaged.
  • Develop and evolve an ambassador program, including ambassador journeys, contribution loops, rewards, governance, onboarding, and activation.
  • Source, onboard, activate, and nurture ambassadors who can represent the brand authentically across digital and real‑world communities.
  • Partner with marketing, social, and product teams to connect ambassadors and community members with relevant brand and product initiatives.
  • Grow and manage micro‑communities across platforms such as Reddit, Discord, Telegram, Matrix, LinkedIn groups, and emerging community channels.
  • Facilitate authentic conversations, establish community rituals, and create human‑centered engagement experiences.
  • Identify community needs, trends, and sentiment early and act as a bridge between users and internal teams.
  • Monitor community sentiment and contribute to crisis response, brand safety, moderation standards, and community guidelines.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate community feedback and insights into meaningful product and roadmap input.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of community management standards and best practices.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in community management, ambassador programs, developer relations, or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience developing and managing community hubs, ambassador programs, or comparable community initiatives.
  • Experience facilitating user communities, events, or other community‑driven activation programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated copywriting ability.
  • Ability to motivate, engage, and build trust with diverse groups and community members.
  • Proven ability to independently own programs from strategy through execution while collaborating effectively with leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate trade‑offs and make sound decisions.
  • Good understanding of digital community dynamics, online culture, and engagement behaviors.
  • Based in the United States with strong familiarity with U.S. online culture.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives while maintaining consistent execution.
  • Preferred: Experience with developer relations or community building at larger organizations.
  • Preferred: Strong interest in open‑source ecosystems, privacy, cybersecurity, or internet culture.
  • Preferred: Experience with community platforms and tools such as Discourse, DEV, Guild, Orbit, Commsor, Common Room, or similar solutions.
Benefits
  • Meaningful work with the opportunity to support products and communities trusted by millions of users.
  • Stock options, providing employees with an opportunity to share in the organization’s long‑term success.
  • Appropriate hardware and software to support high‑quality work.
  • Learning and development opportunities with significant ownership and exposure to challenging projects.
  • Comprehensive employee benefits, including health coverage, retirement options, generous leave, and wellness support.
