Job summary

The American Red Cross in Sioux Falls, SD and Fargo, ND is seeking a Senior Community Disaster Program Manager to guide volunteers and staff in disaster readiness, response, and recovery. You will lead a regional team, develop partnerships, and ensure robust volunteer engagement across communities.

With a focus on leadership, collaboration, and mission readiness, the role requires 5+ years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience.
• 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Empower and manage a diverse team of employees and volunteers.
• Oversee disaster cycle services activities in the assigned region.
• Build Disaster Leadership Volunteers and community partnerships.
• Engage communities and mobilize volunteers for readiness and response.
• Collaborate in a matrix organization with internal partners.
• Act as regional disaster subject matter expert to maximize engagement.
• Initiate and coordinate disaster relief operations in alignment with the Disaster Cycle Services Concept of Operations.
