Job summary

State of Delaware is seeking a Communications Systems Manager to oversee the configuration, installation, and maintenance of government communications systems for state agencies and EMS services. The role involves supervising staff, coordinating repairs, and ensuring regulatory compliance of FCC standards.

The position requires leadership of technical teams, planning, and ongoing system optimization across radio, microwave, and public address infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience interpreting FCC laws, rules and procedures.
• Two years' experience managing a communications systems maintenance operation.
• Two years' experience anticipating and resolving challenges and improving compliance.
• One year of staff supervision including planning and evaluating work.
• Six months experience in budget, grant, or contract administration.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical electronics work to ensure operation and maintenance of state communications systems.
• Configures, installs, repairs, and aligns communications systems and related equipment.
• Conducts regular monitoring and testing for performance and reliability.
• Delivers customer service and technical support to users and resolves inquiries.
• Identifies, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves technical issues; may work with vendors.
• Plans and installs software/hardware updates and integrates into existing systems.
• Uses diagnostic tools to program, install, maintain, and troubleshoot systems.
• Completes continuing education and stays updated on advancements.
• Requisitions and maintains records, logs and databases of maintenance work.
• Performs other related duties as required.
