Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Principle Communications Engineer to lead multiple high-profile projects, overseeing technical lifecycle from requirements to certification. You will work closely with program managers, develop system architectures, and collaborate with customers to deliver cutting-edge ground communications systems for government clients.

Your role spans requirements derivation, verification, and design of RF/IP networks, ensuring delivery meets security and certification standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
US Government position. US Citizenship Required.
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Travel up to 20% both CONUS and OCONUS.
10+ years' proven experience as a Project, Systems, and/or Network Engineer.
Experience with IP/Networking equipment and related systems.

Responsibilities

Document and own system requirements and concept of operations for complex communications systems.
Lead verification and validation procedures to ensure system performance meets requirements.
Design and implement communication networks integrating RF and IP technologies.
Coordinate with Business Development, software, and test teams across lifecycle stages.
Engage with customers and partners to deliver on program goals and regulatory requirements.
Ensure designs align with military and FAA certification expectations.
