Job summary

Qualifications

• Ten to fifteen years of full-time experience in strategic communications.
• Experience in complex, multi-layered, intellectually charged work environments.
• Experience in nonprofit sector and its role in social change.
• Experience responding to challenging media inquiries and securing coverage.
• Able to work under time pressure with competing demands.
• Deep understanding of MacArthur’s programs and communications strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead communications for a portfolio of MacArthur programs.
• Develop strategic communications plans that support program goals.
• Manage external firms and grantees for content development.
• Respond to media inquiries for assigned program areas.
• Guide interviews and statements for program areas.
• Support presidential communications as directed.
• Collaborate with Foundation staff to raise visibility.
