Job summary

LOTT Clean Water Alliance is seeking a Communications Specialist III to join our team in the Olympia area. This role will support internal and external communications across staff and the public, including outreach for capital projects and emergency response.

You will develop campaigns, manage digital content, and help represent LOTT to the community. The ideal candidate will lead with initiative, collaborate across departments, and occasionally support evening or weekend events.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications or closely allied field.
At least three years of experience as a Communications Specialist II or equivalent.
Knowledge of wastewater treatment, public utilities, or environmental communications is desirable.
Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Provide internal and external communications support for capital projects and programs.
Develop and implement strategic outreach plans and activities.
Identify and develop media relations and social media strategies.
Coordinate cross‑team efforts to plan long- and short-term communications goals.
Create and manage materials such as website content, brochures, reports, and visuals.
Gather information, conduct research, and craft clear, accurate communications content.
Oversee production of printed materials and ensure deadlines and quality standards.
Develop engaging visuals and ensure accessibility of materials.
Lead, organize, and participate in public meetings, tours, and events.
