Job summary

Jewish Association Serving the Aging (JASA) is seeking an Associate Director of Communications to lead our strategic communications and elevate the organization’s brand across NYC. You will collaborate with executive leadership, manage media relations, and supervise a growing communications team.

The role requires 6–10 years in strategic communications, strong writing and executive communications skills, and the ability to travel NYC/Long Island.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 6–10 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic communications, marketing, and public relations.
• Experience working within nonprofit organizations preferred.
• Experience supervising communications staff and consultants.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Strong executive communications abilities.
• Experience working with New York media outlets.
• Crisis communications and reputation management experience.
• Willingness to travel throughout all five boroughs of New York City and Long Island.
• Ability to learn new communications technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute JASA’s comprehensive communications strategy.
• Lead media relations and storytelling across platforms.
• Oversee digital communications, publications, and campaigns.
• Supervise and mentor Communications team.
• Coordinate partnerships with trustees and external partners.
