The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) seeks a Sr. Director, Press Relations to join the External Communications team in Washington, DC.

This senior role reports to the AVP, External Communications and supervises the Manager, Press Relations. You will develop and execute the organization’s press strategy, craft stories and talking points, pitch reporters, manage crisis communications, and collaborate with the Public Affairs office and federation partners to elevate national and local

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in public relations or media communications.
• Proven ability to develop compelling stories and messaging.
• Strong writing, editing and communication skills.
• Experience managing multiple PR projects and teams.
• Familiarity with US, Canada and Israel Jewish life is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promoting JFNA as the central address of the organized North American Jewish community.
• Developing and executing the PR strategy and annual work plan.
• Building and codifying messaging documents and talking points.
• Collaborating with the Public Affairs team in the Washington, DC office.
• Identifying media opportunities and pitching reporters across outlets.
• Drafting press releases, talking points and background information.
• Conducting interview prep with senior leadership and monitoring coverage.
