Job summary

The Midtown Group is seeking a Senior Communications Strategy Consultant for a long-term engagement with our client, a major enterprise transformation program spanning 6 to 8 workstreams.

You will architect master narratives and draft messaging, lead a cross-functional team, and partner with a Change Strategy Leader and Training/Learning Leader.

Compensation is $90–$110 per hour on a full-time, 40-hour week, starting by mid-October 2026 through December 2027, with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of managing complex, matrixed enterprise communication strategies.

Our client is launching a massive, multi-year enterprise transformation initiative spanning 6 to 8 critical workstreams. We need an exceptional Senior Communications Consultant to shape our overarching communication approach, lead a diverse team, and act as a hands-on execution partner.

Working alongside a Change Strategy Leader and a Training/Learning Leader, you will form the "triumvirate" driving our enterprise engagement and enablement approach.

The Opportunity

• Role: Senior Communications Strategy Consultant (Contract)
• Compensation: $90 – $110 / hour (Depending on experience)
• Timeline: Starting by mid-October2026 through December 2027 (With potential extension into 2028)
• Commitment: Full-time (40 hours/week)
• Interviews: 9/24 and 9/25

What You’ll Do

• Architect & Execute: Develop the overarching, macro communication strategy for the entire transformation initiative while personally owning and delivering the end-to-end communication materials for at least 2 key workstreams.
• Lead & Influence: Oversee a diverse, cross-functional communications team comprising both internal employees and external contractors.
• Navigate the Matrix: Partner with and oversee communications deliverables produced by a separate, external consulting vendor team. This requires high emotional intelligence, diplomatic savvy, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder dynamics.
• Collaborate with Leadership: Take direct guidance from a seasoned executive who deeply understands communication, seamlessly adapting to the established corporate style while confidently bringing fresh, innovative ideas to the table.
