Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a Sr. Commodity Manager - Structures Group in Washington, DC. You will develop sourcing strategies, negotiate terms, and manage supplier relationships across global operations.

The role requires extensive experience in procurement, cost analysis, and contract terms to deliver low total cost while maintaining quality. Travel to supplier sites and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and production teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of work experience; minimum 5 years in sourcing, engineering, logistics, or related fields.
• Strong written and verbal communication with suppliers and management.
• Ability to draft and understand supply contracts and terms.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers to achieve lowest total cost.
• Advanced Excel and PC skills (Word, Access, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to improve performance and quality.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure supplier compliance with long-term agreements.
• Issue RFIs/RFPs/RFQs and evaluate responses for sound commercial decisions.
• Collaborate with global PACCAR operations on supply chain and commodity strategies.
• Travel to supplier locations to assess capabilities and improvements.
