Job summary

Kelly is seeking an experienced Commodity Buyer in Austin, TX to support procurement activities, build a vendor database, and manage SAP Ariba files.

The role emphasizes indirect goods, including IT products, vendor bid analysis, and cost-reduction initiatives. It offers a hybrid schedule with two days in the office and three days remote, plus full-time in-office training during initial weeks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or ≥4 years related experience.
• 5+ years purchasing experience; 8 years preferred.
• Experience purchasing indirect goods (office furniture, software, IT products).
• SAP Ariba experience.
• MS Excel with pivot tables.
• MS Office (PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Knowledge of purchasing practices, BOMs, specs, and manufacturing docs.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Procurement team with purchase orders and projects.
• Create and maintain a contract database for vendors and agreements.
• Manage and maintain SAP Ariba files.
• Analyze vendor quotes, parts lists, reports, and purchasing data.
• Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate supplier bids on price, delivery, quality, and terms.
• Manage open orders to maximize supplier performance.
• Evaluate supplier performance using rating methods.
• Support cost-reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers.
• Prepare purchasing reports, statistics, and strategies.
