Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an experienced Buyer to support procurement activities, supplier management, and contract/vendor data management in a 12-month hybrid role in Austin, TX.

You will focus on indirect procurement, IT products, software and equipment, with SAP Ariba experience and supplier negotiations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience; 8+ years preferred.
• Experience as a Commodity Buyer or similar role focusing on indirect goods.
• Strong background purchasing IT products, software, or related services.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain contract/vendor database.
• Support PO activities and procurement projects.
• Manage purchasing files in SAP Ariba.
• Analyze vendor quotes and purchasing data.

Location: Austin, TX – Hybrid (2 days onsite, 3 days remote)

Duration: 12-month contract

Pay: $33–$36/hr DOE

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with indirect procurement, particularly IT products, along with supplier negotiation and purchasing operations.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a comprehensive contract and vendor database.
• Support procurement teams with purchase order activities and projects.
• Manage and maintain purchasing files within SAP Ariba.
• Analyze vendor quotes, parts lists, reports, and other purchasing data.

Requirements

• 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience; 8+ years preferred.
• Experience as a Commodity Buyer or similar purchasing role, particularly with indirect goods.
• Strong experience purchasing IT products, software, equipment, or related services.
