Job summary

Mainspring Energy in Menlo Park seeks a Senior Commissioning Operations Technician to lead planned and reactive service work and transition to technical operation of our systems. You will maintain mechanical integrity of generators, perform configuration and startup of custom linear generator systems, and collaborate with engineers to improve components while upholding safety and quality standards.

Onsite role with opportunities to travel nationwide up to 50% as needed; compensation includes

Qualifications

• 5+ years in mechanical assembly/repair; automotive/aviation/heavy equipment assembly a plus.
• Experience using micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks, and torque wrenches.
• Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and wear PPE.
• Proficient with basic tools and torque specs; documentation of repairs.
• Experience following written and verbal on-site work instructions.
• Excellent communication; Google Workspace knowledge a plus.
• Team player with a proven track record.
• Fast learner, self-motivated, and safety-conscious.
• Valid driver's license; Class C CDL preferred.
• Willing to travel nationwide up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Mechanically repair and/or maintain generator components per procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers to fix, repair, and redesign components.
• Conduct mechanical inspections and document condition data for debugging.
• Perform technical tasks and site ops with minimal supervision, ensuring safety.
• Configure and startup custom linear generator systems per engineering parameters.
• Use and provide feedback on automation scripts and commissioning toolkits.
