Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned Commissioning Supervisor to oversee commissioning activities for power-generating construction projects. You will mentor foremen, coordinate with owners and subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and cost controls throughout the project lifecycle.

Required are extensive field experience, licenses (state contractor, journeyman/master electrician, PV), SCADA/NETA knowledge, and strong communication skills. Travel is extensive; leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive field experience in construction.
• Valid driver license and acceptable MVR.
• Knowledge of electrical transmission, substation construction, interconnect systems and SCADA.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Basic understanding of safety construction, commissioning, and testing electrical systems.
• Ability to supervise many employees.
• Strong communication with owners, subcontractors and staff.
• Understanding of tracking job progress and costing.
• Knowledge of NETA and NFPA 70E.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise commissioning activities for power-generating construction projects.
• Provide technical guidance on electrical systems and construction processes.
• Mentor Foremen and support onboarding, training, and development.
• Monitor safety, costs, and schedule; enforce safety regulations.
• Coordinate with project team, owners, and subcontractors.
• Assist Project Manager with testing budgets, change orders, and budget changes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline work and reduce waste.
• Ensure testing and commissioning workers receive timely training.
