About the Advanced Facilities Group (AFG)

JE Dunn's AFG combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into a high-performing team focused on cutting-edge projects for innovative clients in large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor sectors. As part of this team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside a diverse group of industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities - Core
ME Engineer Family - Core
  • Participates actively in all safety and quality initiatives, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment.
  • Completes routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Assists in developing budget estimates using automated M/E estimating systems based on program and schematic designs.
  • Reviews mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  • Develops scopes of work for bid processes and assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  • Develops sequencing plans for various systems to meet project schedules.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and assist in constructability reviews.
  • Performs job inspections to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Supports shop drawing and submittal processes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Assists with commissioning activities, including checklists and functional testing.
Additional Responsibilities - Senior M/E Engineer
  • Handles more complex mechanical, electrical, and field activities.
  • Develops detailed estimates and reviews design options, recommending the best solutions and value engineering.
  • Coordinates scopes of work during bidding and develops sequencing and scheduling inputs.
  • Reviews design documents, develops quality control programs, and performs inspections.
  • Prepares and verifies commissioning plans and documentation.
  • Mentors less experienced team members and seeks process improvements.
  • Negotiates subcontracts, manages equipment purchases, and builds client relationships.
  • Participates in business development, community engagement, and promotes diversity and inclusion.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Effective work performance, communication, presentation, and proficiency in MS Office and construction technology.
  • Ability to read plans, drawings, and specifications, and to manage budgets and project timelines.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software, BIM, Lean processes, and construction management fundamentals.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field required; relevant experience considered in lieu.
  • 10+ years of construction management experience preferred.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license required.
