Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls) to lead field commissioning across North America.

Expect heavy travel (70%) and hands-on involvement from pre-commissioning through handover to ensure safe, reliable plant operation. You will work daily with P&IDs, process flow diagrams, electrical drawings, control schematics, and technical documentation to prove systems are ready for operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant industrial experience, including hands-on commissioning and/or start-up and operations.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and execution of commissioning plans, procedures, and test protocols.
• Coordinate onsite commissioning from pre-commissioning through start-up, SAT, and handover.
• Verify mechanical completion and system readiness before commissioning.
• Perform inspections, equipment checkout, calibration verification, and loop/I/O checks.
• Coordinate dry and wet commissioning for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and process systems.
• Support PLC, HMI, SCADA testing during commissioning and start-up.
• Troubleshoot equipment and control systems and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare risk assessments, JHA, LOTO reviews, and commissioning safety planning.
• Document commissioning results and maintain test reports, checklists, and punch lists.
