Job summary

P2S|CMTA in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Commissioning Agent with strong technical expertise to evaluate and optimize building system performance across commercial facilities.

This full-time, hybrid role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and 5+ years in mechanical design for commercial buildings, with travel up to 30%. Salary ranges from $110,000 to $140,000, plus an annual performance-based bonus tied to role and company performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• CxA (ACG) or CCP (BCA) or BCxP (ASHRAE) certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews to ensure alignment with OPR and BOD.
• Develop commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and test procedures.
• Identify, document, and track issues throughout all project phases.
• Execute and oversee functional performance testing of building systems.
• Lead commissioning coordination meetings with Owners, Engineers, GCs, Sub Contractors, and Facilities personnel.
• Prepare clear reports summarizing progress, test results, and system performance.
• Support owner training and documentation of systems and operations.
