Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer for our San Francisco office to lead commissioning of building systems, drive energy-efficient solutions, and ensure project success from design through turnover.

You will coordinate tests, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients to deliver high-quality commissioning outcomes across disciplines, including HVAC, electrical, and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering from an accredited program.
• Professional Engineering license (PE) in one or more states or minimum of 10 years in commissioning.
• Commissioning certification with a nationally recognized body.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and specification requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of commissioning processes and delivery, plus basic construction knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate system test procedures.
• Organize user training sessions and conduct functional performance tests.
• Conduct field observations and attend progress meetings.
• Assist in document control.
• Support project construction and contract administration.
• Interpret design documents and BIM models for commissioning.
