Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Commissioning Agent based in the United States, Texas, San Antonio. You will lead commissioning activities for complex projects, serving as the main client contact and coordinating with design and construction teams to ensure quality and performance.

With 8+ years in mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines and a PE license or equivalent field experience, you will manage schedules, optimize budgeted hours, and uphold HDR's employee-owned culture while traveling to

Qualifications

• A minimum of 8 years of industry experience dealing with mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines.
• Willingness to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on HDR needs.
• Licensed PE or a field technician with strong understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the T&B process.
• Good computer skills and effective typing skills.
• Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Be familiar with organization of design documents and delivery of design & construction services.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, and financial management tools.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Be the main contact between the client and HDR and direct and manage all Commissioning activities on the project
• Adhere to budgeted man-hours and execute commissioning services
• Coordinate with the client and assist the contractors in scheduling the commissioning activities: plans, pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, training plans, O&M, record document and shop drawing reviews and opposed season testing
• Perform other duties as needed

In the role of Senior Commissioning Agent, we'll count on you to:

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Degree or similar.
• Commissioning Industry Experience: Mission Critical, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Higher Education, Government

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 8 years of industry experience dealing with mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines
• Must be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on HDR needs
• Must be an experienced engineer, either a licensed PE or a field technician with excellent understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the T&B process, etc
• Must have good computer skills and effective typing skills
• Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be familiar with the organization of design documents, the preparation of the multidiscipline designs, and the delivery of the design & construction services
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations fundamentals, contracting, and general business operations
• Understanding of project accounting and financial management tools
• Ability to prioritize and organize work; ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
